Vidhya left home because of the cruelty she faced from her stepmother. She used half of the jewelry her mother had given her to fund her engineering education, while working part-time to support herself and continue her studies.

Vidhya stayed at her friend Poornima’s house while attending college and working part-time. Due to certain circumstances and conditions, Vidhya pretended to be Poornima’s sister-in-law.
